Midwest Theater hosting Hispanic Heritage Film Festival on Sept. 28-29

SCOTTSBLUFF — In conjunction with Hispanic Heritage Month, The Historic Midwest Theater announces the second annual Hispanic Heritage Film Festival. “The Book of Life” will show Friday, Sept. 28, and “Chicano Rock! The Sounds of East Los Angeles” will show Saturday, Sept. 29. Admission is free for both film events, and there will be door prizes.

A special performance and Q & A session with members of the band Avid Dischord will take place before and after the film.

Both screenings are free thanks to the following sponsors: Nebraska Arts Council, Nebraska Cultural Endowment, NET Television, Pahlke Law Group, Olé Restaurant, The Pumpkin Patch at BE FARM, Avila’s Trucking, West Nebraska Arts Center, Zac and Cristina Karpf, Katie and Jeff Bradshaw, Steve Frederick and Maria Pineda, and Wade and Celestina Friedlan-Godinez.
