TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) _ A fan sitting behind the dugout at a Toledo Mud Hens game on Tuesday was knocked out briefly by a foul ball that hit him in the head.
Charles Horne of Green Springs was taken out of the stands on a stretcher after losing consciousness. He was taken to St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center and was listed in fair condition.
Play stopped for about five minutes while medical personnel helped Horne.
He regained consciousness before he left the ballpark and spoke briefly to Charlotte Knights center fielder Joe Borchard, who hit the ball in the seventh inning.
Borchard, a top prospect in the Chicago White Sox organization, appeared shaken, but stayed in the game.
