1 dead, 1 hurt in Albania bus attack
TIRANA, Albania (AP) — A gunman fired on a bus on a mountainous stretch of Albanian highway in an apparent robbery attempt, killing one man and leaving another passenger with minor injuries.
Health officials say a 25-year-old man died in a hospital hours after the attack near the city of Tepelene, 190 kilometers (120 miles) south of the capital Tirana. A 19-year-old woman was being treated for cuts from broken glass. Police said they are searching the area for suspects but have made no arrests.
A total of 22 people, all Albanian, were on the bus traveling from Athens, Greece.
Passengers told local news media they believed the attack was an attempted ambush by robbers.
