Hunt for Mansfield man who threatned President Trump is over; Shawn Christy in custody

MANSFIELD, Ohio -- The State Highway Patrol confirmed the arrest Friday of Shawn Christy, a Mansfield-area fugitive accused of, among other things, threatening President Donald Trump.

The U.S. Marshals service is expected to hold a 6 p.m. press conference to announce his arrest. State highway Patrol made confirmed his arrest shortly before the press conference was scheduled to take place.

Christy was wanted on several arrest warrants in Pennsylvania charging him with burglary, probation violations and failure to appear in court for an aggravated assault case.

He threatened to use “full lethal force on any law enforcement officer that tries to detain me.”

Investigators released no details about how they found Christy or where the self-described “survivalist” was taken into custody.
