SARASOTA, Fla. (AP) _ Thursday's game between the Cincinnati Reds and Philadelphia was rained out in the top of the third inning with the Phillies ahead 3-2.

It was the fourth spring rainout for both teams and the second time they've had a head-to-head game canceled. The Reds and Phillies also were rained out March 19 in Clearwater, when Robert Person was scheduled to pitch for Philadelphia.

Person was on the mound again Thursday when a stormed moved in just before gametime. A gusting wind blew fly balls around for two innings as the Phillies pulled ahead 3-2.

After Doug Glanville singled to open the third against Osvaldo Fernandez, a light rain turned into a downpour that sent players from both teams scurrying for cover. Large puddles covered foul territory and the outfield when the umpires called the game after a 34-minute delay.

Bobby Abreu had an RBI double, Scott Rolen's groundout drove in another run and Mike Lieberthal singled home a run as Philadelphia went ahead 3-0 in the first. Sean Casey hit a two-run homer, his third of the spring, in the bottom of the inning.
