Bullhead City man accused of assaulting girlfriend
BULLHEAD CITY — A Bullhead City man was arrested Sunday night after allegedly threatening to kill his girlfriend.
According to the Bullhead City Police Department, Jonah Miguel Ramos, 45, was arrested on suspicion of child abuse, aggravated assault, disorderly conduct with a deadly weapon, disorderly conduct and criminal damage. All of the charges involved domestic violence, police spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said.
Ramos also was facing charges from two outstanding warrants for failure to appear.
According to Fromelt, officers were called to a home in the 2800 block of Colibri Court around 10:30 p.m. Sunday, where it was reported that Ramos had pointed two knives at his girlfriend, threatening her with bodily harm. He also reportedly destroyed items in the apartment during a fit of rage.
Ramos allegedly punched his girlfriend as she was holding their 4-month-old son, striking the baby on the top of his head.
A neighbor entered the apartment, pointed a gun at Ramos to get him to stop his assault, and ordered him to leave.
Both the girlfriend and the infant were taken to Western Arizona Regional Medical Center in Bullhead City for medical treatment.
Ramos left the scene but was taken into custody by police and was booked into the Mohave County Jail in Kingman on a total of 16 counts. He was being held without bond.
