Huffman ISD announces early dismissal at all campuses ahead of heavy rain storms
Due to expected severe weather this afternoon and evening, all Huffman ISD schools will have early release.
Hargrave High School and Huffman Middle School will be released at 1:30 p.m. Huffman Elementary School and Falcon Ridge Elementary School will be released at 2:45.

“We will continue to monitor the weather and conditions in our area throughout the day and night and will post updates regarding plans for tomorrow,” Huffman ISD posted on its Facebook page. “Thank you to all parents for your patience and support. Decisions like this are always based on the safety of our students and staff.”
The National Weather Service issued the watch for all of southeast Texas as forecasters predict a wet weekend in the Houston area.

About 5 to 8 inches of rain are expected over the next three days, with up to 12 inches possible in some areas.
The Storm Prediction Center says there’s a slight risk for severe storms today across nearly all counties in southeast Texas, with possible strong wind, hail and isolated tornadoes. That comes after overnight storms Tuesday to Wednesday dumped 10 to 12 inches of rain on isolated parts of Harris and Fort Bend counties.
School was canceled for all Huffman ISD campuses yesterday.
