November 15, 2018

TOWN OF CALAMUS — A 24-year-old Fox Lake woman was named Wednesday as the pedestrian who was flown to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries after a car struck her on Highway 151 near Jackson Road a day earlier.

According to a press release from the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office, Joanna Amidon and Desmond Stewart, 44, Beaver Dam, were walking along the right outside traffic lane on Tuesday at 5:40 a.m. Preliminary investigation showed a Honda driven by Dustin Riggins, 25, Madison, was also traveling along the same lane and struck Amidon. She was thrown into the grass area east of the highway.

Riggins stopped his vehicle and is cooperating with law enforcement. Amidon was transported to Beaver Dam Community Hospital before being flown to University Hospital in Madison by Flight for Life.

The crash remains under investigation by the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office.
