Badgers women’s golf team 16th in field heading into final day of UCF Challenge
The University of Wisconsin women’s golf shot a 304 Monday on the second day of the UCF Challenge — 11 strokes worse than Sunday — and is last in the 16-team field heading into the final day in Orlando, Florida.
Their score of 21-over 597 trails leader Vanderbilt by 37 strokes. Among other Big Ten Conference teams, Michigan State is in fourth place at 8 under; Purdue is tied for fifth at 7 under; Penn State is 12th at 2 over; and Illinois is 13th at 2 over.
UW sophomore Claire Fitzgerald followed up her opening 69 with a 76 for a 1-over 145 and is tied for 42nd place. Senior Jessica Reinecke (74-75) and freshman Gabrielle Tomeo (75-74) are among seven players tied for 70th.
