Today’s game RailRiders (16-12) vs. Indianapolis (15-15), PNC Field, 6:35 p.m. Probable pitchers: RailRiders RHP Chad Green vs. Indianapolis RHP Mitch Keller (3-0, 3.48) Off the rails ■ Following Tuesday’s game in New York, the Yankees sent UT Tyler Wade down to the RailRiders. No corresponding move was announced, though the Yankees still needed to do something to activate RHP Jonathan Loaisiga, who is scheduled to pitch today.■ 1B Logan Morrison joined the RailRiders on Tuesday. He’s been in extended spring training since signing a minor league with New York on April 19. Morrison will split time with Mike Ford at first base. Ryan McBroom will see most of his playing time in the outfield, manager Jay Bell said. Morrison has spent parts of nine seasons in the major leagues with the Marlins, Mariners, Rays and Twins. He batted .186 with 15 home runs and 13 doubles in 95 games with Minnesota last year. ■ To make room for Morrison and LHP Stephen Tarpley, the Yankees released IF Billy Fleming. Fleming, 26, played parts of three seasons with the RailRiders and is a career .291 hitter with a .352 on-base percentage and a .420 slugging percentage. “As a manager, or a coach, you get to know these guys. You get emotional about the relationship,” Bell said. “It’s always difficult to do it. It’s one of the worst things about the job.” The Yankees signed Fleming in 2014 as a nondrafted free agent out of West Virginia University. “If he wants it, he’s got a future in this game beyond the playing stuff, because he’s just got that kind of personality and knowledge,” Bell said. ■ OF Billy Burns was placed on the injured list Monday, retroactive to Sunday. Burns left Saturday’s game in Syracuse with an illness and was taken to the hospital. Bell said the 29-year-old was dehydrated and stayed overnight in the hospital. “He was still scuffling a little bit (Tuesday),” Bell said. ■ LHP Daniel Camarena went through warmups and drills with the RailRiders before Tuesday’s game. No official roster move was made, but Camarena will rejoin the organization on a minor league deal. Camarena, 26, was a 20th-round draft pick by the Yankees in 2011. He was released in 2017 and signed with the Chicago Cubs. The Cubs traded him back to the Yankees in 2018, then New York released him May 20. He finished the season with the San Francisco Giants, signed with the Minnesota Twins before this season, then was released April 29. ■ OF Aaron Hicks, who has yet to play a game with the Yankees this season after suffering a back injury in spring training, played his second rehab game Tuesday with High-A Tampa. Hicks served as the designated hitter and went 0 for 4 with a strikeout. He is 0 for 8 with two strikeouts on the rehab assignment. — CONOR FOLEY International League North W L Pct. GB Lehigh Val.
