OMAHA, Neb. — A new survey suggests the economy remains strong in nine Midwest and Plains states, but business leaders are concerned about the ongoing trade disputes. CUSTER, S.D. — The National Park Service is suspending guided cave tours at Jewel Cave National Monument in southwestern South Dakota to make improvements along the popular route. The government awarded a nearly $5 million contract to a Rapid City company to improve structures one official says were built in an “ad hoc manner” and are difficult to maintain and repair.
