Young playwrights premiere work during Kid’s Korner at Stage Left

May 8, 2019

Spokane’s youngest playwrights – Evergreen Elementary School first graders, taught by Pamela Meehan, Alyssa Harmon and Becky Tucker – have been working hard and are finally ready to premiere their new works.

Local actors and directors will help bring those plays to life during Kid’s Korner, this weekend at Stage Left Theater.

Audience members can expect plays featuring leprechauns, dragons, cats, dogs, Pegasus and zombies. You know, standard play fare.

After each performance, the playwrights are brought on stage and given “official playwright” certificates.

“We’re trying to make the kids feels super special because that’s what it’s all about,” Tia Wooley, then managing director of Stage Left, told the Spokesman-Review last year.
