Peoples Bank recently announced the 2019 Scholar Awards are available to area high school graduates attending Kankakee Community College, Olivet Nazarene University and the University of Notre Dame this fall.

Interested students can apply in their senior year by completing the standard applications for admission and financial aid at the school where they are admitted. Partial scholar support will be made available to qualified graduates in need of financial assistance.

At the time of application, students should express their interest in the Peoples Bank Scholar Program. Awardees are selected by their respective college.

Additional information regarding the scholarships is available through area high school guidance offices and the Offices of Financial Aid at Olivet, Notre Dame and the Foundation Office at KCC.

“We want to encourage Kankakee County students to further their education and help eliminate some of the financial barriers they face,” Peoples Bank President Jeff Hammes said.

Since its inception in 1996, Peoples Bank and the Hammes Family have provided scholarships to 112 graduating seniors from Kankakee area high schools.
