Power Beat the Charge 5-4
VILLANOVA, Pa. (AP) _ Krista Davey scored during second-half injury time to give the New York Power a 5-4 victory over the Philadelphia Charge on Saturday.
Christie Welsh had two goals and Justi Baumgardt and Tiffeny Milbrett also scored for New York, which has won two straight games after opening 0-3.
Marinette Pichon and Stacey Tullock each had a goal and an assist for Philadelphia (0-3-0). Kelly Smith, and Deliah Arrington also had goals for the Charge.
Davey, who came on as a substitute in the 76th minute, controlled the ball just outside the Philadelphia penalty area, e cut to the middle and sent a left-footed shot into the right side of the net for her first goal of the season.
The nine combined goals tied the WUSA record.
