LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) _ Sophomore Chris Manuel scored a career-high 28 points and added a team-high nine rebounds in leading Southwestern Louisiana to a 77-64 victory over North Carolina Greensboro on Saturday.

The Ragin’ Cajuns (7-2), winning for the third straight time, broke loose from a 34-31 lead at halftime and led by as many as 14 points in the final four minutes to win its final non-conference game of the year. The visiting Spartans (5-4) have lost their last two games.

Manuel had 20 points in the second half in leading five Cajuns in double figures. Chris Snowden had 14 points, Kelvin Price scored 12, Reginald Poole 11 and Conley Verdun 10.

Jeremy Davis and Larry Gilbert each had 10 points to lead the Spartans, who only led once in the game _ a 2-0 advantage in the first 80 seconds of the game on a layup by Jonathon Clifton. Snowden nailed a three-pointer 30 seconds later and Southwestern never trailed again.

Southwestern hit 45.8 percent from the field and was 7-for-21 from three-point range. North Carolina Greensboro hit 45.5 percent from the field but only 5-of-17 from outside the arc. They entered the game ranked second nationally in three-point percentage (48.5 percent).
