Crash leads to arrest on drug charges for havasu man
A single vehicle crash led to a Lake Havasu City man being arrested for driving under the influence of drugs and possessing meth paraphernalia. Lake Havasu City Police arrived on the scene of a single vehicle car crash on Friday near Sandwood Drive and Palisades Drive.
Officers observed the driver of the car, identified as 54-year-old Bobby Burris, being treated by the Lake Havasu City Fire Department. They also saw a white pickup truck and a slightly bent mailbox.
According to police reports, Burris refused treatment from the Fire Department and, when approached by officers, had slightly slurred speech. He said this was caused by the medications he had taken that morning. Officers had Burris complete a few tests in which he allegedly performed poorly. He was then searched and, according to police reports, a meth pipe was found in his pockets. Burris was arrested on misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence to the slightest degree and possession of drug paraphernalia.
