2 Men Shot At Hanover Twp. Bar

December 30, 2018

HANOVER TWP. - Gunfire again erupted at an embattled Hanover Twp. nightclub early Sunday when two people were shot. Police say two males suffered gunshot wounds around 4:25 a.m. at Brooklyn’s Sports Bar along the Sans Souci Parkway. The victims, who were not identified, were transported to area hospitals for non-life threatening injuries, Hanover Twp. police say. The shooting comes just weeks after a state police after-hours raid on the business in which police say they seized guns and drugs from the operators and employees. A man was shot in the leg outside the business around 5:15 a.m. on Oct. 20. During the raid last month, members of the state police Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement said they infiltrated Brooklyn’s Sports Bar and Lounge around 3:15 a.m. to find the club was selling alcohol at prohibited hours and was permitting the “open use” of illegal drugs. Bar manager Akiem Rollocks, 31, of Mount Pocono, was openly in possession of and using drugs at the bar, police said. Security guard Monika Murphy, 28, of Wilkes-Barre, was in possession of drugs as well, authorities said. Both were charged with possession of a controlled substance while working at a bar and selling alcohol at prohibited hours. Two bartenders also faced charges for selling alcohol at prohibited hours, police said. During the raid, police said they seized a loaded Glock handgun and a loaded 12-gauge shotgun from the bar. Police said they also seized $1,311 that was the result of illegal alcohol sales and a large amount of alcohol that was being sold during prohibited hours. The raid was the result of a months-long undercover investigation, police said. At the time, authorities said there is a pending investigation against the business’ liquor license, which could result in fines, license suspension or the loss of the license. It’s not immediately how the latest shooting will affect the probe into the bar. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Hanover Township Police Department at 570-825-1254
