Peoria officials want draft of ordinance for food trucks
PEORIA, Ill. (AP) — Peoria officials are seeking an ordinance to allow and regulate food trucks in the city.
The city council voted Tuesday for staff to have the proposed ordinance ready for discussion by March 24. The (Peoria) Journal Star (http://bit.ly/1aiRdmb ) reports the passage of the ordinance could happen the following month. But some council members think the issue merits more than a one-month study.
City Manager Patrick Urich says public meetings will be held throughout the next four weeks to hear the opinions of local restaurant owners.
He says city staff could present a proposed ordinance with multiple options for council members to choose from.
