New details have emerged in the case of a Parker man who police said engaged in two violent robberies last week in Lake Havasu City.

Kerrigon Brandon Russell, 23, was arrested at about 11:35 p.m. Thursday, May 2, and charged with several felonies, including armed robbery, aggravated assault and kidnapping.

Law enforcement officials said Russell robbed a beauty supply store and an adult bookstore on separate occasions. They also said he admitted to the crimes and provided details.

Police said surveillance footage revealed Russell had considered robbing other stores at The Shops.

Police also said Russell told them he began entering other businesses as early as 8 a.m. Monday, April 28, to determine which ones to rob.

According to the police report, Russell said he entered Sally Beauty Supply just before it closed Monday evening. He allegedly said he took the female victim, who was working alone, to a back room and hit her in the face several times because she fought back. He then used zip ties to tie her to a rail in the bathroom, took a key to a safe and removed a money bag that held between $150 and $500 in cash.

He also threatened her with brass knuckles before he left the store and drove home in his grandmother’s car. He allegedly said he spent all the money.

The victim called the store manager on her smartwatch and freed herself from the zip ties.

Then, on the evening of Thursday, May 2, police said Russell robbed the Havasu Adult Bookstore on London Bridge Road.

Lake Havasu City Police officers stopped the vehicle Russell was driving because it appeared to be the one that was driven in the beauty supply store robbery.

Police then got a search warrant and found the brass knuckles and the victim’s ID, which Russell said he took from her possession. They also found zip ties and duct tape as well as a green money bag that held $668 from the adult bookstore robbery.

The man who reported the robbery said a female victim was tied up inside.

Deputies saw swelling on her face and blood coming from her lip.

Deputies issued a bulletin for the man and his vehicle. Not long after, officers with Lake Havasu City Police saw the vehicle, stopped it on Highway 95 near SARA Park and arrested Russell.

Police said Russell did admit to the bookstore robbery.

Russell is being held on a $100,000 cash only bond in the Mohave County Jail.
