Worcester County jail inmate dies
WEST BOYLSTON, Mass. (AP) — Authorities are investigating the death of a pre-trial detainee who was being held at the Worcester County jail.
Jail officials say 29-year-old Brian Diaz of Worcester was found injured in his cell Saturday after apparently trying to kill himself.
Authorities tell The Telegram & Gazette (http://bit.ly/192Z4vp ) that he was taken to a hospital where he died Tuesday.
The cause of death remains under investigation.
A jail spokesman said Diaz was awaiting trial on charges of breaking and entering, receiving stolen property and drug offenses.
