_ SHOOTING-BOY KILLED: Columbus police say a 14-year-old boy has been killed in a shooting near an elementary school that also left a 14-year-old girl wounded.

_ CHILD STRUCK-DRIVER SHOT: Authorities say a man found guilty of shooting and killing a motorist who accidentally struck a 4-year-old boy in Cincinnati has been sentenced to 18 years to life in prison.

_ SON’S SLAYING-FATHER SENTENCED: A Dayton man who pleaded guilty to shooting and killing his adult son has been sentenced to 15 years to life in prison.

_ UNIVERSITY-METHODIST AFFILIATION: A university in Ohio has ended its affiliation with the United Methodist Church over the denomination’s renewed bans on LGBT clergy and same-sex marriage.
