VALLEY SANTA: Mother ‘starting Fresh’ Struggling Financially

December 15, 2018

Donna, a mother of two boys, recently moved back to the area after leaving an abusive relationship.

“I am starting fresh,” she wrote in a letter to Valley Santa. “It has been a struggle but at least I am becoming mentally healthy.”

Financially, Donna said things are very hard for her.

She said she is struggling to afford coats for her sons and to pay for gas to travel.

She asked for Valley Santa’s help in providing toys for her 11-year-old son Michael and her 6-year-old son Frank for Christmas.

In her letter, she wrote some “cute little toys would make them happy.”

Valley Santa relies on donations to purchase Christmas gifts for children in need throughout Luzerne County like Michael and Frank.

Volunteers shop for and wrap the gifts at Boscov’s in Wilkes-Barre. Each child in need receives a toy and a book.

“I just can’t afford to do this all right now,” Donna wrote. “I would be so grateful for any help with our Christmas.”
