Sharps Compliance: Fiscal 4Q Earnings Snapshot
HOUSTON (AP) _ Sharps Compliance Corp. (SMED) on Wednesday reported fiscal fourth-quarter net income of $490,000, after reporting a loss in the same period a year earlier.
The Houston-based company said it had net income of 3 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 1 cent per share.
The medical waste management company posted revenue of $12.2 million in the period, also beating Street forecasts. Three analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $10.8 million.
For the year, the company reported net income of $214,000, or 1 cent per share, swinging to a profit in the period. Revenue was reported as $44.3 million.
The company’s shares closed at $3.79. A year ago, they were trading at $3.27.
