Woman’s body found in home
Fort Wayne police are investigating the death of a woman on the city’s south side, a spokesman said Monday.
About 5:30 p.m., officers responded to an unknown problem in the 2400 block of Cass Street.
Upon arrival, paramedics and officers found an unresponsive woman in the home. Paramedics pronounced the woman, who has not been identified, dead at the scene.
Investigators were canvassing the area late Monday to gather information, and crime scene technicians were at the scene.
The cause and manner of the woman’s death will be released by the Allen County coroner’s office.
Fire victims died from inhalation
The two people who died in a Sunday house fire in Huntington have yet to be identified, but the Huntington County coroner’s office Monday said the victims were asphyxiated from smoke inhalation.
Because of the extent of the victims’ injuries, the coroner’s office is working on confirming identities.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Huntington Fire Department and the Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office.
