‘Age of Ultron,’ The Weeknd top People’s Choice nominations
LOS ANGELES (AP) — “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” Dwayne Johnson, The Weeknd, and “Grey’s Anatomy” picked up multiple People’s Choice Awards nominations, announced on Tuesday.
More than 72 million votes were cast to whittle down nominees in movies, television, music, video games, and social media for the fan-centric awards.
The show honors the most popular people and products in entertainment. Favorite Movie nominees, for example, include the top four grossing film of the year, “Jurassic World,” ″Age of Ultron,” ″Inside Out,” and “Furious 7.”
Fans also vote in categories like Favorite YouTube Star and Favorite Social Media Celebrity.
Jane Lynch is hosting the 2016 People’s Choice Awards, which will air live on CBS on Jan. 6 from Los Angeles. The next round of online voting closes Dec. 3.
