Southeast Idaho woman injured when her car collides with potato truck

September 30, 2018

An Idaho Falls woman was injured Friday when her car collided with a potato truck in south central Idaho.

On Friday, September 28, 2018, at approximately 5:26 P.M., Idaho State Police investigated a two- vehicle injury crash at eastbound State Highway 50 near milepost 4.7, near the overpass of Interstate 84, northeast of Kimberly.

Amanda Hall, 46, of Idaho Falls, was driving eastbound on SH50 in a 2018 Subaru Crosstrek. Hall attempted to make a left turn onto westbound Interstate 84, and failed to yield the right of way to Jerry Andreasen, 68, of Hazleton.

Andreasen was driving westbound on SH50 in a 1997 Ford potato hauler. The Ford truck struck the Subaru Crosstrek on the passenger side. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.

Hall was transported by ground ambulance to St Luke’s Magic Valley Medical Center in Twin Falls.

SH50 was blocked for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes.
