Local children’s author honored
Local children’s book author Stephanie Keegan has been honored by the American Book Fest Best Book Awards.
Keegan’s first two books, “No Head Fred Said Stay Safe” and “No Head Fred Said Get Healthy” are finalists in the “education” and “mind, body, spirit” categories, respectively.
Keegan drew the main character when she was in elementary school, according to a press release. She wanted to use him to help kids learn. The books promote safety, health and helping others.
The books are available on Amazon.com, Barnes&Noble.com and Walmart.com. Keegan will host a book signing at Barnes & Noble at the SouthPointe shopping center in Lincoln on Dec. 9 at 1 p.m. A portion of sales will be donated to local schools.
