March 23, 2019

A pair of Honesdale graduates were honored by the Eastern College Athletic Conference in women’s basketball.

Natasha Hessling of Marywood was named to the ECAC Division III first team and Morgan Birmelin of DeSales was named to the second team.

Hessling is just the second player in program history to be named all-ECAC after Holy Cross graduate Gab Giordano was named honorable mention last season. She averaged 15 points and 13.8 rebounds per game and was sixth in Division III in total rebounds (373) and led the Atlantic East Conference in rebounds, double-doubles and field goal percentage.

Birmelin, who was also named MAC Freedom Player of the Year, averaged 13.3 points per game and led Division III in assists per game (7.4) and total assists (223).
