Crossair Plane Crashes Near Zurich

ZURICH, Switzerland (AP) _ A Saab-340 airplane belonging to the Swiss regional airline Crossair and carrying 10 people crashed Monday evening near Zurich, police and airport officials said.

The airplane crashed while taking off from Zurich’s Kloten airport, at Niederhasli, airport spokesman Werner Loosli said.

It was carrying seven passengers and three crew members, Loosli said.

There were no immediate details on any casualties.
