CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) _ Muhsin Muhammad, Carolina’s leading receiver, will probably miss Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers because of hamstring injury.

Muhammad is still listed on the team’s injury report as doubtful, but he said Wednesday he won’t play this week.

Coach John Fox said Isaac Byrd will start if Muhammad sits out.

Muhammad is tied for 10th in the NFC in receptions with 16 for 207 yards for the Panthers in their surprising 3-0 start.

He injured the hamstring in the second half of Carolina’s 21-14 win against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday. He said he got stuck in the turf and felt something pop in his left leg.

Muhammad has missed 12 games in his career because of hamstring problems, including five last season.

The Panthers will also be without reserve running back Nick Goings, who has cracked ribs. Linebacker Dan Morgan is questionable because of a hyperextended knee and missed practice Wednesday.
