Cal St.-Fullerton 89, UC Irvine 57

IRVINE, Calif. (AP) _ Chris Dade led six players in double figures with 18 points as Cal State-Fullerton defeated UC Irvine 89-57 Saturday night.

Chris St. Clair added 14 points and Mark Richardson, Dane Plock, Dirk Rassloff and Josh Leighton had 10 points each for the Titans (10-6, 3-3 Big West).

The 32 points was the largest margin of victory by either team in the 62-game series dating back to 1965. The previous high was 29 points in a 1978 win by Fullerton.

The Titans shot 70 percent from the floor in the second half when they outscored Irvine 53-34 to put the game away.

Irvine (1-14, 1-5) shot 40 percent for the game, including 33 percent in the first half when Fullerton led 36-23 at the break.

Brian Johnson led the Anteaters with 14 points.

Irvine had snapped a school-record 16-game losing streak with a 76-74 overtime victory against Nevada on Thursday.
