Lasers 94, Xplosion 72
SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) _ Clarissa Davis-Wrightsil scored 16 of her 20 points in the second half as the San Jose Lasers cruised to a 94-72 American Basketball League win over the Colorado Xplosion on Thursday night.
The Lasers broke the game open to start the third period, going on a 15-0 run.
The Xplosion, who turned the ball over a team-record 30 times, were led by Dana Wynne, who scored a career-high 29 points on 12-of-18 shooting.
The Lasers came within two points of scoring the most points in franchise history. San Jose was 21-for-31 in the second half.
Jennifer Azzi scored 16 points, Clariss Maschnguana 15 and Sheri Sam 12 for San Jose, which fell behind 17-7 before a 12-4 run at the end of the first period, led by Maschnguana’s seven points, allowed the Lasers to tie the game at 21 heading into the second period.
Wynne scored 12 of her 15 first-half points in the second period as the Xplosion led the Lasers 37-35 at halftime.
