Area vocal ensemble will perform concert
The Euterpe Music Club of Watertown invites the public to a concert today at 7 p.m. at Christ United Methodist Church, 112 Hall St.
The featured performers are the Fourte Vocal Ensemble from Hartford. This group is known for its blend and eclectic repertoire. The group sings Broadway music, pop tunes, traditional songs, spirituals, classical and sacred pieces, both a cappella and accompanied.
Robin Pfotenhauer, soprano, majored in vocal music education at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. She has taught piano and voice privately, worked at Hartford Union High School as a voice coach and has been an accompanist for solo and ensemble festivals at the high school and middle school level, as well as accompanying children’s choirs and the Missoula Children’s Theater productions at the Schauer Arts and Activities Center. She is heavily involved in the music program at First United Methodist in Hartford.
Stephanie Klockow, alto, is the associate director of choral activities at UW-Platteville. She conducts the concert choir and University Singers and is the choral music education specialist, teaching courses in choral music methods, music appreciation and supervising student teachers in choral music education. She is also the director of music at First United Methodist Church in Hartford and recently concluded her fourth and final season conducting the Hartford Community Chorus.
Jim Gottfried, tenor, is avidly involved in music and theater, performing with groups such as the Hartford Community Chorus, Hartford Players, the choirs at First United Methodist Church in Hartford, Midwest Choral Artists, Florentine Opera Company and more. He graduated from UW-Platteville with a degree in fine arts and is able to ply his craft as a freelance graphic designer from time to time.
David Schlotthauer, bass, enjoys singing with Chancel Choir at First United Methodist in Hartford. Having been directed by Pfotenhauer in church choir, directed by Klockow in high school choirs and musicals and listening to Gottfried throughout his life, he is excited to now be singing with them in the Fourte Vocal Ensemble. He works with his father at Douglas Jeweler in Hartford.
