Fight at Cleveland bar led to deadly shooting in Union-Miles neighborhood, police say

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- A bar fight led to a deadly shooting early Friday in Cleveland’s Union-Miles neighborhood, police said.

A 24-year-old man was killed and a 25-year-old man was hurt in the shooting that happened about 2:15 a.m. outside The Drink on East 131st Street at Crennell Avenue, police said.

Investigators learned a fight broke out in the bar. The altercation spilled outside, where gunshots were fired, police said.

The 24-year-old man was shot in the chest. Cleveland EMS took him to University Hospitals, where he died, police said.

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office has not yet released his name.

The 25-year-old man was shot in the arm, police said. He was taken to MetroHealth for treatment.

No suspects have been identified in the deadly shooting, police said.

Three men have been shot and killed in the city in the last 24 hours. On Thursday, a 52-year-old man and a 47-year-old man were fatally shot in the Lee-Harvard neighborhood.
