Shooting in Akron sends teen male to hospital

AKRON, Ohio — An 18-year-old male was wounded in a shooting just south of downtown, police say.

Police officers responding to the shooting just before 9 p.m. Monday found the male, an Akron resident, at the intersection of Harvard Street and Russell Avenue.

The male was taken to Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital with serious injuries.

Bullet also struck a Jeep Patriot parked on Russell Avenue, but there were no reports of other injuries.

No arrests have been made.
