The following preliminary hearings are scheduled before District Judge Susan Mankamyer in Boswell:

Driving under the influence

Janet Wilson, 38, Brotherton Road, Stonycreek Township, has been charged with two counts of driving under the influence, endangering the welfare of children and six summary offenses. According to a probable-cause affidavit, at about 4:27 p.m. Oct. 29 Wilson crashed a vehicle into a tree along Brotherton Road, just south of Shanksville Road, in Stonycreek Township. She had two children in the vehicle. She had a blood alcohol content of 0.19 percent, according to the affidavit. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 2 p.m. Dec. 19.

Strangulation

• Jack Lowery III, 34, Big Rock Road, Stonycreek Township, has been charged with second-degree felony strangulation, simple assault, illegally operating a vehicle and a summary offense. According to a probable-cause affidavit, at about 4:18 a.m. Nov. 18 Lowery choked and punched a woman at the Big Rock Road residence. He then left in a vehicle without an ignition interlock system, which he is required to have, according to the affidavit. He was arraigned Nov. 21 before Mankamyer and is free on an unsecured $20,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:15 a.m. Wednesday.

• Hillard West III, 38, Somerset Pike, Jenner Township, has been charged with second-degree felony strangulation, simple assault and a summary offense. According to a probable-cause affidavit, at about 4:40 p.m. Tuesday a woman told state police that West struck her and held her down by her throat during an argument at the Somerset Pike residence. West was arraigned Tuesday by on-call District Judge Ken Johnson, of Somerset, and was sent to the Somerset County Jail in lieu of a $5,000 bond. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for 10:15 a.m. Wednesday.
