BREAKING: Winter storm expected to hit here Sunday
A winter storm is bearing down on northeastern Illinois and is expected to make travel hazardous starting Sunday afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service, between six and eight inches of snow is forecast to fall on McHenry and DeKalb counties and northern Kane County by Monday at noon.
Snowfall totals are expected to range between two to three inches in northern Kendall County and one to two inches in the county’s southern regions.
The weather service forecasts Will County to receive between one and two inches of snow.
The weather service cautions drivers about the possibility of patchy, blowing snow and reduced visibility after 5 p.m. Sunday. Winds from the north, northeast are expected to increase Sunday afternoon, with some gusts as high as 30 mph.
