NAPLES, Italy (AP) _ When police burst into the villa of a suspected mobster Friday, they literally walked into a lion's den.

A ``very large'' lion was pacing in a 13-foot cage in the garden of Raffaele Brancaccio, reputedly a member of the Naples-based crime group the Camorra, the ANSA news agency reported.

Police raided Brancaccio's house because several neighbors had complained of roaring.

Prosecutors are expected to charge him with violating regulations on importing wild animals and animal mistreatment, ANSA said.

Brancaccio also keeps exotic birds and in the past has raised monkeys and snakes.
