Maine ad agency wants Bowie to sing Christmas tune

December 25, 2013

PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — An ad agency in Maine is dreaming of a David Bowie song for Christmas.

Via Agency, a Portland-based marketing company, has launched a social media campaign aimed at getting Bowie to record a song one of its employees wrote and recorded for its annual Christmas greeting.

The agency created a website that allows visitors to send tweets to Bowie, urging him to record a song. About 1,000 people have encouraged the rocker to participate.

Bowie’s representative couldn’t be reached for comment.

The website also provides a link for people to donate to a Maine group that supports veterans.

John Coleman, the agency’s CEO and founder, tells the Portland Press Herald (http://bit.ly/1cuNukv ) that the goal is to have fun, support a cause and get the word out about the agency.
