Lawrence County commission agrees to fund road slip repairs
SOUTH POINT, Ohio — The Lawrence County Board of Commissioners agreed Tuesday to award a $190,168 bid to repair a slip along County Road 2 (Greasy Ridge).
County Engineer Patrick Leighty recommended the board approve the bid by Skeens Excavating. The slip repair project still has to be approved by the Ohio Department of Transportation. The landslide repair project could begin in about a month, Leighy said Tuesday during a board meeting at the Greater Lawrence County Area Chamber of Commerce in South Point.
The slip along County Road 2 is located about a mile off Ohio 243, Leighty said, and is one of two that needs work this year along County Road 2. The second slip is about a mile and a half away from the first one.
