Highway 66 Crash in Longmont Sends Two to Hospitals
A two-vehicle crash on Highway 66 sent two people to hospitals Sunday evening.
A 20-year-old woman was driving a 2006 Hyundai SUV southbound on North 115th Street while a 76-year-old man was driving a 2004 Chevy pickup eastbound on Highway 66 shortly before 6 p.m., according to Trooper Josh Lewis.
The driver of the SUV drove through a stop sign, Lewis said, and collided with left front side of the pickup truck.
The woman was taken to Longmont United Hospital with serious but nonlife-threatening injuries, Lewis said.
The man was taken to UCHealth Longs Peak Hospital. A 75-year-old woman who was a passenger in the truck was not injured.
Lewis said the case is still under investigation and no charges have been filed. It’s not yet known if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash.
