KBA installs officers
Clara “Jean” Machann, owner of Town and Country Locators, is president of the Katy Business Association.
This is her third time to serve as president of the group.
Other officers installed at the Jan. 24 meeting by past KBA President Patty Raske include: Vice President Matthew David, Treasurer Tim Rau, Secretary Jennifer Pierce, Membership Susan Rovegno, Technology Transito Montiel and Marketing Olivia Martin.
The group meets monthly. The next meeting will be Feb. 27 at La Estancia Italian Restaurant, 5361 E. Fifth St. in Katy. The restaurant just opened, said Machann. “We try to rotate to different restaurants in the Katy area.”
The networking lunch will start at 11:30 a.m. and feature guest speaker Richard Smith, coach and author. His topic will be “How to Grow Your Business in 2019!”
“He does a great presentation,” said Machann. The March meeting will feature Katy Mayor Chuck Brawner and Director of Tourism, Marketing and Public Relations Kayce Reina doing a presentation on what’s happening in Katy, added Machann.
The lunch is $15 for members and $20 for nonmembers.
The mission of the nonprofit Katy Business Association Inc. is “Unify all business to work toward a common goal, that of an economical revitalization of the Business District, create a strong unified voice that represents the business interests when communicating with city officials and government agencies.”
