Deadline for veteran pavers set for April 13

April 3, 2019

The Watertown Veterans Council is again offering an opportunity for local residents to honor family members who have served in the military by purchasing memorial paver stones to be placed in Veterans Memorial Park in Watertown.

Anyone who served honorably or is serving in the U.S. Armed Forces or its allies from the Revolutionary War to the present is eligible to be memorialized on a paver stone.

Each 12-inch-by-12-inch-by-2-inch granite paver may have up to seven lines with up to 20 characters per line. Information may include rank and name of the veteran, branch of service, years served, conflict or area served and awards. The last lines can be personal. There should be no pictures nor emblems.

The pavers will be located along a walkway going to the Soldiers Monument.

Each paver may be purchased for $150. Checks should be made payable to the Watertown Veterans Council, P.O. Box 22, Watertown, WI 53094. Payments may also be made by emailing Dennis Johnson at denjohnson@sbcglobal.net. After receipt of payment, pavers will be placed in the month before Memorial Day.

The cutoff for spring pavers will be Saturday, April 13, so processing and sandblasting can be completed.
