All square as Pardew’s Palace draws 0-0 with Newcastle
LONDON (AP) — Alan Pardew’s Crystal Palace settled for a 1-1 draw with the new manager’s former club Newcastle in the Premier League on Wednesday.
Palace enjoyed most of the first-half possession but Newcastle striker Papiss Cisse broke the deadlock three minutes before halftime, heading home a cross from the right by fullback Daryl Janmaat.
Substitute Fraizer Campbell leveled for the home side, prodding the ball home in the 71st minute.
Pardew took over at Palace last month after five years in charge at Newcastle.
