Ashland Prepping for annual Poage Landing Days festival that rolls Thursday through Sunday

September 18, 2018

Poage Landing Days will feature a national act country night on Saturday with concerts by Sammy Kershaw and Keith Anderson with comedian Cledus T. Judd opening.

ASHLAND — The Poages have landed, and they’re bringing fiddles, deep-fried Oreos, skateboards, and lots of friends.

Voted one of the “Top 25” downtown festivals in Kentucky by the Kentucky Main Street Program, Ashland’s top fall festival, the Poage Landing Days Festival, will roll in downtown from Friday Sept. 21, through Sunday, Sept. 23, with a whole lot of fun going down on the streets and in nearby businesses.

Free and open to the public, the festival on Winchester Avenue has a bit of everything including an antique car show, streets full of arts and crafts and food vendors, as well as the Southern Fried Cone Fest skateboard race — which brings in the best slalom skateboarders from around the United States — the Ed Haley Fiddle Fest which pays homage to the influential fiddler, a motorcycle show, the Poage Landing Days beauty pageant, carnival rides, games, free children’s activity tents and inflatables, and non-stop music showcasing our amazing local & regional bands alongside today’s top national touring acts. Festival headliners include a Saturday night country lineup of Sammy Kershaw, Keith Anderson and Cledus T. Judd.
