Indian Film Star Released on Bail
NEW DELHI, India (AP) _ A film star arrested last week for hunting rare antelopes in a wildlife reserve in western India was released on bail Saturday, domestic news agencies reported.
Salman Khan was ordered to pay a bail bond of $2,500, surrender his passport, and not leave the country without permission from authorities, the Press Trust of India reported.
Khan will be tried for poaching and using guns in a wildlife sanctuary, offenses that carry a maximum sentence of seven years.
Khan, along with another actor and three actresses, allegedly killed eight antelopes in two separate hunts while on break from filming a movie in the desert city of Jodhpur.
