FBI Agent Stabbed On Street
WASHINGTON (AP) _ An FBI agent received a minor stab wound Friday when a homeless man apparently attacked him at random, police said.
Chris Warrener was attacked after his wife, Gayla, who also is an FBI agent, was bumped by a man as she was returning to her car after lunch with her husband in downtown Washignton.
Mrs. Warrener called to her husband for help after being bumped by the man, a scuffle followed, and Warrener was stabbed in the chest, said Allen Harper, spokesman for the D.C. Police Department.
Warrener was treated and released for the wound at George Washington University Hospital.
The man, whom authorities believed to be homeless, was identified as Willis Singleton Jr. He was charged with simple assault and assault with a dangerous weapon and was to be arraigned in Superior Court Saturday, Harper said.
