Arizona GOP chairman scolds delegate who won’t support Trump
PHOENIX (AP) — The Arizona Republican Party’s chairman is scolding a state delegate who says she won’t support presumptive presidential nominee Donald Trump at the upcoming GOP national convention.
Lori Hack told Arizona GOP chairman Robert Graham last week that she’ll defy his demand that all the state’s 58 delegates vote for Trump because he won the presidential primary in March.
Graham replied Monday and told Hack that he interprets her action as her resignation from the Arizona delegation. He also warned that she could be replaced by an alternate who will “follow the rules.”
Hack’s letter to Graham was distributed Sunday by a group called Delegates Unbound. That’s an anti-Trump group that seeks to unbind delegates from having to vote for him at the convention scheduled for July 18-21 in Cleveland.
