Student finds human remains behind Arkansas high school
SEARCY, Ark. (AP) — Authorities say human remains have been discovered on the campus of a central Arkansas high school.
The Riverview School District says a student found the remains Tuesday afternoon in a wooded area behind the administration building on the high school’s campus in Searcy, about 45 miles (70 kilometers) northeast of Little Rock.
Searcy police say the remains belong to an adult and appear to have been in the woods for years.
Police say the remains will be sent to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for identification and to try to determine the cause of death.
