Penguins cancel Halloween festivities in wake of shooting
The Pittsburgh Penguins have canceled Halloween-themed festivities planned for Tuesday night’s home game against the New York Islanders, instead holding a collection to benefits victims and families of Saturday’s shooting in Squirrel Hill.
“The entire city has a heavy heart,” team president and CEO David Morehouse said in a press release.
Fans may make donations as they enter PPG Paints Arena before the game.
The Penguins are also hosting a blood drive from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday at the arena. Donors may enter at the Verizon Gate on Centre Avenue.
